For over 67 years, DeGrandchamp Farms has been growing blueberries in South Haven, Michigan. With over 26 blueberry varieties and generations of farming experience, we’ve helped make blueberry picking a summer tradition for families across Southwest Michigan.

How does the new U-Pick system work?
Choose your bucket, pay before you pick, fill it up, and keep your bucket to reuse for discounted refill pricing on future visits.
What size bucket should I choose?
Small (1.25 lbs) = kids/snacking/first-time. Medium (3 lbs) = couples/small families/baking. Large (6 lbs) = families/freezing/stocking up.
Do I keep my bucket?
Yes! Your first purchase includes your reusable DeGrandchamp U-Pick bucket. Keep it and bring it back to save on refills.
How long can I use my bucket?
You can reuse your DeGrandchamp bucket for future visits as long as it is in good condition and not broken.
Can I reuse my bucket on the same day?
Yes! Once purchased, you can refill it anytime—even later that same day—for discounted refill pricing.
What if I forget my bucket?
No problem! You can purchase a new bucket and start picking.
Can I bring my own bucket?
To keep things simple and consistent, we ask all U-Pick guests to use official DeGrandchamp U-Pick buckets.
Can I share my bucket with family or friends?
Yes! Families are welcome to pick together and fill one bucket.
What should I bring?
Comfortable shoes, sunscreen, water, bug spray, and clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.
Are pets allowed?
For food safety reasons, pets are not allowed in the U-Pick fields.
Are the fields muddy?
Sometimes! Depending on weather, the fields can be muddy.
Is there shade in the fields?
There is limited shade in the fields. Bring water and dress for warm weather.
Are restrooms available?
Yes! Portable restrooms and handwashing stations are available, plus air-conditioned bathrooms in the Farm Store.
What blueberries are available right now?
We grow different varieties throughout the season, so availability changes as summer goes on.
Can I freeze blueberries?
Yes! Blueberries freeze great and are perfect for smoothies, baking, and enjoying later in the year.
Easy freezing tip:
No need to wash them first. Place blueberries in a freezer bag and leave the bag open overnight so they freeze individually like marbles. Seal the bag the next morning. Rinse them when you’re ready to use them.
