March 27, 2020

In light of the ongoing response to COVID-19, as well as Governor Whitmer’s “stay home, stay safe” executive order issued on March 23, we at DeGrandchamp Farms would like to give a brief update.

Governor Whitmer has identified Michigan’s food and agriculture industry as critical infrastructure. Due to the critical function we perform as part of Michigan’s agriculture sector, DeGrandchamp Farms will remain in operation while focusing every day on the best practices needed to keep everyone safe and healthy.

Our top priority is the health, safety and well-being of our employees and the customers we serve every day.  We will continue to thoroughly clean and sanitize our workplace and equipment daily.  We will continue to encourage all employees to carefully follow best practices to prevent the spread of COVID-19, including frequent handwashing, maintaining six feet of separation from others, and staying home if they are feeling sick. Additionally, we are doing everything we can to limit the number of visitors to our facilities.

Our nursery will continue to accept, fulfill, and ship plant orders. Frozen blueberries and frozen cranberries are still available for sale through our office, in addition to other products from our market. We ask that you call ahead with your purchase so that we may bring it out to your car when you arrive. Online orders of plants and products from our market will also continue to be available.

At this uncertain time, maintaining a reliable food and agricultural supply chain in our state is critical. We all play an important role in this effort, and together, we can keep Michigan agriculture going strong while keeping one another safe and healthy. Thank you for your support.

Sincerely,

DeGrandchamp Farms
